A meeting was held by the Transportation Alliance initiative on Dec. 3, 2004 at the WV Rehab Center, Institute, WV. The group was created to be a "grass routes" voice to the Transportation Committe, ensuring that needs for transportation by all WV citizens be met.

The Transportation Alliance is made up of five standing Committees: Steering, Legislative, Membership, Technology and Resource Development. Membership is at the present time free and a drive to recruit members from all sectors of private citizen groups is ongoing. At the present there are representatives for Seniors, Public Transportation, and those with disabilities. Although it is an initiative of the Fair Shake Network, Inc., this organization desires to expand its reach to all groups having or providing transportation needs for any who live is West Virginia.
